Already at the beginning of my long standing friendship to Franca Borgia, who, last but not least is an artist in the Spirit of the Rinascimento, I was extraordinarily attracted by her spectacular paintings. Not alone the choice of the subjects is remarkable, but especially the never yet seen leading and decorating elements of double spirals, which are an essential factor in the composition of every painting.
Be it landscapes, trees, rivers, birds, divinities, priestesses or ethnic symbols, all these paintings are inspired with various high precision forms of double spirals. One hardly can believe that all these spirals are set without models or patterns.
The extensive picturesque qualifications Franca acquired at the renowned State Academy of Fine Arts SURIKOV in Moscow.
I was so fortunate to witness the creative process of quite a number of paintings; most of them, as a consequence, I purchased, and furthermore one can be sure, with each newly commissioned work, time and time again, to be delightfully surprised.
It is an enormous pleasure to contemplate all these delicately composed lines and colourful surfaces, which convey a soothing sensation to my eyes. As a matter of fact, my shortsightedness has significantly improved since I started to collect Franca’s artwork, which I also consider a counterpoint to the so called mainstream of “contemporary art”, which I perceive as meaningless, distasteful and therefore redundant.
